Course Description
The Grade A Officer (Assistant Commandant) rank is the highest entry-level rank in the Central Armed Police Forces of India. Assistant commandants in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) are selected through a competitive exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) annually. With UPSC CAPF 2024, a total of 506 vacancies for Assistant Commandants have been released for various forces like the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).
